Triduum in honor of St. Gemma to obtain a special favor
Day 1
Most compassionate
virgin, St. Gemma, during thy short life on earth, thou didst give
a most beautiful example of angelic innocence and seraphic love and wast
found worthy to bear in thy flesh the marks of our Lord's Passion, have
pity on us who are so much in need of God's Mercy and obtain for us through
thy merits and intercession, the special favor we fervently implore.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
V.
Pray for us, St. Gemma. R. That we may be made worthy
of the promises of Christ.
Let us Pray
O God, Who didst fashion the holy virgin, Gemma, into a likeness of Thy
Crucified Son, grant us through her intercession, that as sharers in the
sufferings of Christ, we may deserve to become partakers of His Glory,
Who with Thee liveth and reigneth in the unity of the Holy Spirit world
without end. Amen.
Day 2
O worthy Spouse
of the Lamb of God, Who feeds among lilies, thou didst ever preserve the
innocence and splendor of virginity, giving to the world a bright example
of the most exalted virtues, look down with pity from thy high place in
heaven upon us who confide in thee and implore for us the favor we so
ardently desire.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.

Triduum in honor of St. Gemma: For the sick and the
infirm
Day 1
O virgin-victim, St. Gemma,
thy life was consumed in the sweet flame of love for God and thy neighbor;
thou didst suffer in thy own frail body and sensitive heart racking pains
and bitter bereavements. Have pity on all who labor under the cross of
bodily suffering, on all who grieve over their loved ones, in illness.
Graciously obtain healing for our sick and turn our sorrow into joyful
gratitude to thee in whom we place our trust.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
Day 2
O tender and generous St.
Gemma, thy heart was so deeply moved by the miseries of this mortal life
that the poor, the sick and the sinner found in thee sympathy and generosity
and they trusted in the efficacy of thy prayers. We also raise confident
eyes to thee amidst the trials, the maladies, the temptations of life.
Plead for us before the throne of God for all our spiritual and temporal
needs especially for the restoration to health of those near and dear
to us.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
Day 3
O heroic lover of Jesus Crucified,
thy life was one prolonged penance, a perpetual and burning prayer, spent
at the foot of the Cross with our Sorrowful Mother. Now in heaven, enjoying
the fruit of thy holy life, obtain mercy and consolation for sinful and
suffering mankind. Offer thy penances and prayers to Jesus and Mary and
send comfort to the sorrowing, hope to the despairing, health to the sick.
Remember our loved ones on beds of pain; intercede for them that, regaining
health, they may serve our loving Saviour with renewed fervor and fidelity.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
Prayer in Thanksgiving for Favor Received
O humble virgin,
St. Gemma, to what power God has exalted thee! Thou art invoked by those
who suffer the pains and sorrows of this vale of tears. And miracles and
graces are daily obtained by imploring thy name, as we have experienced.
Blessed be our merciful God for granting thee such power in our behalf!
Grateful for thy loving kindness we resolve to imitate thy virtues that
we may, one day, join thee in Paradise and unite with thee in the eternal
hymn of thanksgiving.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.
