After Gemma’s death,
the Nuns who cared for her took charge of her body. At the suggestion
of one who well knew her longings to be a Passionist, Gemma was
clothed in brown and had the badge of the Passionist Institute placed
upon her breast. Also, a crucifix was laid in her hands. A priest
who was present stated, “Blessed Gemma, who knew how to live as
an angel and die as a Saint.”
